Germany has approved Rheinmetall’s AGSP modular simulator to train crews of its Puma infantry fighting vehicles. The system replicates live-fire and combat scenarios using Bohemia Interactive’s VBS4 software, already in use by German forces. Housed in 12 transportable containers, AGSP recreates vehicle functions, crew controls, and ballistics for realistic platoon and company-level training. It connects with Germany’s next-generation soldier systems and battle management tools, enabling both mounted and dismounted exercises. Its modular design allows upgrades to cabins and server racks, while simplifying maintenance. Rheinmetall emphasized the simulator was co-developed with the armed forces to align closely with operational needs. The adoption highlights Germany’s push for digital training as it modernizes ground forces, including plans for nearly 400 Puma IFVs by decade’s end.
