The Iveco-Oto Melara Consortium (CIO) has been awarded a contract by the Italian Ministry of Defense to provide 76 Medium Armored Combat Vehicles (VBM) for the army. The deal calls for 60 combat versions and 16 anti-tank carrier versions of CIO’s VBM Plus 8×8 vehicle for the Second Medium Brigade of the military. The contract also includes integrated logistics support as well as an unknown quantity of 10×10 rescue and recovery vehicles to support the incoming VBM fleet’s operability.
