Three Zambian peacekeepers serving with the United Nations mission in the Central African Republic were wounded after armed fighters linked to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces and former Seleka rebels attacked a UN base near the Sudanese border. The assault occurred in the strategic border town of Am Dafock, prompting strong condemnation from the UN, which warned that the attack could constitute a war crime under international law. Local authorities reported significant casualties during the fighting and requested military reinforcements as regional instability continues to spill over from the conflict in neighboring Sudan.
