As part of the service’s ground combat fleet modernization program, the US Army has received the first Stryker armored fighting vehicles and Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) in Pennsylvania. The Horsham-based 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team (Independence Brigade), the first Stryker brigade in the reserve component and one of the army’s nine Stryker operators, accepted the vehicles.
