Saab of Sweden has partnered with Joint Stock Company Ukrainian Defense Industry (JS UDI) through a newly signed memorandum of understanding focused on aviation and aerial surveillance.

The announcement came during a multinational security meeting in Munich and details cooperation in aircraft platforms, radar technologies, avionics, and advanced monitoring systems aimed at boosting Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The agreement was signed by Anders Carp and Herman Smetanin.

JS UDI, created under Ukrainian government mandates, oversees more than 130 defense enterprises and is considered one of the top 50 arms producers worldwide. Saab is a major global defense player, known for products such as the JAS 39 Gripen and Carl-Gustaf recoilless rifle.
