QinetiQ has received a five-year contract extension worth £205 million from the UK Ministry of Defence to continue providing engineering and technical support for the Royal Air Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon fleet. The agreement focuses on sustaining aircraft capability, improving availability, and enhancing pilot safety while reducing the time and cost required to return aircraft to service. Delivered through the Aurora Engineering Delivery Partnership, the contract brings together a consortium of major engineering firms and hundreds of specialist suppliers. QinetiQ plans to invest £10 million to expand the use of digital engineering and AI-enabled tools across Typhoon sustainment, accelerating diagnostics and maintenance processes. The Typhoon remains the RAF’s primary air-defense platform and is expected to remain operational into the 2040s alongside the F-35.
