Boeing has teamed with Curtiss-Wright to supply upgraded mission computers for the US Air Force’s C-17 Globemaster III fleet. The new systems follow a Modular Open Systems Approach, allowing improved digital performance and easier future upgrades. With more than 200 C-17s in US service across active, Guard, and reserve units, modernization ensures sustained global airlift readiness. Curtiss-Wright stated that the scalable architecture will support long-term fleet viability. The C-17, capable of carrying roughly 170,900 pounds of cargo and flying at speeds up to 450 knots, remains central to strategic mobility operations worldwide.
