Dassault Aviation has led a $200 million Series B funding round in Harmattan AI, establishing a strategic partnership focused on integrating artificial intelligence-driven autonomy into future combat aviation systems. The collaboration targets both manned and unmanned platforms, including Dassault’s Rafale F5 upgrade and future unmanned combat air system concepts, with particular emphasis on drone control and coordination. Harmattan AI develops AI-enabled solutions for ISR, electronic warfare, and drone interception, and has already secured multiple defense programs with French and UK ministries. The new investment will support expanded operational deployments, product diversification, and increased industrial production capacity. Dassault will contribute expertise in complex systems integration, contested-environment mission architectures, and global defense market access. The partnership reflects a broader industry shift toward sovereign AI capabilities as European nations seek tighter control over sensitive defense software while advancing manned-unmanned teaming concepts.
