At its Seattle plant, Boeing, an American aircraft manufacturer, introduced Germany’s first of eight ordered P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft (MPA).As part of Germany’s initial purchase request of five aircraft in 2021, followed by an additional three in 2023, it is anticipated to be delivered to Berlin by August 2025. The Poseidon, which is set to be decommissioned this year, is meant to take the place of the nation’s current fleet of Lockheed Martin-made P-3C Orions, which are used for maritime patrol and submarine hunting.
