Saab and the French defence procurement agency, Direction générale de l’armement (DGA), have today signed a joint declaration of intent for the sale of Saab’s GlobalEye Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft to France, including associated ground equipment, training, and support services.
This declaration, signed at the Paris Air Show, expresses DGA’s intention to acquire two GlobalEye aircraft from Saab, with an option to purchase an additional two aircraft.
The procurement process will now proceed to a final notification stage, with the DGA anticipating contract finalization in the coming months. As of now, no formal contract has been signed, nor has Saab received an official order from France.
