The Indian Air Force has pressed DRDO to speed up the development of longer-range missiles in light of Pakistan’s growing arsenal. Following Operation Sindoor, which involved cross-border strikes, the IAF seeks faster progress on air-to-air, air-to-ground, and surface-to-air missiles with ranges beyond 200 kilometers, including an extended-range Astra variant.
