Denmark has officially entered the final phase of its involvement in the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, marking the occasion with the signing of three key agreements: the Research and Development (R&D) Agreement, the Framework Agreement, and the Life Cycle Management (LCM) Agreement.
This step follows Denmark’s formal entry into the program in April 2025 through a Technical Arrangement with fellow participating nations. As part of this development, Denmark confirmed the acquisition of 129 Patria 6×6 armored vehicles (designated XA-300), manufactured by Finnish firm Patria.
The contract, worth approximately 1.9 billion Danish kroner (about €247 million), is funded via the Danish government’s Accelerationsfonden. A limited number of vehicles will be delivered before the end of 2025 for training purposes, with bulk deliveries beginning in 2026 to support the modernization of the Danish Armed Forces.
