Rosoboronexport has been given a $248 million deal by the Indian Ministry of Defence to supply contemporary engines for the army’s T-72 Ural main battle tanks. According to the conditions, the Russian state-owned weapons manufacturer would supply New Delhi’s Soviet-era automobiles with 1,000 horsepower engines. The military now runs around 2,500 tanks that have its old 780 horsepower engines, which were installed during the fleet’s production in the 1970s.
