In Rome today, the agreement for up to 24 Italian Air Force Eurofighters was signed by the heads of Eurofighter and NETMA (the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency). The declaration follows the signing of the deal for 25 Eurofighters for the Spanish Air Force and comes at a critical moment for the Eurofighter program. The Italian Eurofighter Typhoon jets will take the place of the Italian Tranche 1 models, which are now in use.
