Latvia has awarded a contract to Finnish firm Patria for the construction and delivery of an additional 56 Patria armored personnel carriers (APCs), valued at over 60 million euros ($63.3 million). These vehicles, intended as command and control units for the Latvian military, are scheduled for delivery between this year and 2029. This new agreement builds upon a previous contract under the Common Armoured Vehicle System program—a joint initiative involving Finland, Germany, Latvia, and Sweden—which is already seeing 200 6×6 APCs delivered to Latvia. The production of these 200 vehicles is being carried out on Latvian soil, as per a 2021 contract worth 200 million euros ($210 million).
