Leonardo has secured a contract to supply a multirole maritime patrol aircraft based on its ATR 42-600 commercial platform to the Italian Coast Guard. The procurement supports the service’s ongoing fleet modernization, complementing its existing aircraft derived from earlier ATR 42-200 and ATR 42-500 variants. The new platform will feature upgraded communication systems and advanced surveillance sensors, enabling real-time data sharing across the command structure.
