Lithuania has confirmed plans to acquire three Embraer C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, replacing its older C-27J Spartan fleet. Deliveries are expected before 2030, providing Lithuania with enhanced speed, payload, and mission flexibility. The C-390 can transport up to 26 tons, including armored vehicles and helicopters, while achieving a top speed of 870 km/h. Its range of over 3,200 km with heavy loads makes it suitable for NATO-wide operations. The aircraft’s ability to operate from unpaved runways increases its utility in both military deployments and humanitarian missions. This acquisition strengthens Lithuania’s strategic airlift capacity at a time of rising regional security challenges.
