Lockheed Martin and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 17 at the 2025 Paris Air Show, aiming to broaden their longstanding collaboration. The expanded partnership will now cover rotorcraft production, next-generation platforms, space systems, uncrewed aerial vehicles, crewed-uncrewed teaming, training solutions, and sustainment services.

The MoU was signed by Lockheed Martin’s Chief Operating Officer, Frank St. John, and KAI’s President & CEO, Goo-young Kang. This agreement builds upon a successful 30-year relationship that began with licensed F-16 production and has grown to include joint projects like the T-50 advanced jet trainer, FA-50 light combat aircraft, KF-21 multirole fighter, and comprehensive logistics support.

Both companies are already exploring new opportunities to strengthen their partnership, including joint initiatives to support ongoing T-50 and FA-50 export programs, such as the U.S. Navy’s Undergraduate Jet Training System.
