The Royal Moroccan Air Force has contracted L3Harris Technologies to upgrade its fleet of C-130 transport aircraft. The project, beginning this year at L3Harris’ Texas-based Waco facility, will include advanced avionics, engine refurbishments, structural maintenance, and overall mission support. Expected to run until 2029, the program will improve operational availability for missions ranging from tactical airlift to humanitarian assistance. The C-130 is valued for its adaptability—able to operate on unprepared airstrips—and is capable of transporting troops, vehicles, and helicopters. With modular mission configurations, the aircraft also supports heavy airdrop operations with a rear ramp system and reinforced landing gear for rugged environments.
