The Royal New Zealand Air Force has implemented a wide-ranging upgrade for its NH90 fleet, enhancing both software and avionics systems to strengthen operational performance and safety standards.

The update allows the aircraft to better identify allied units through enhanced friend-or-foe scanning systems, streamlining multinational cooperation in joint exercises or missions. Furthermore, the upgrade includes compliance with ADS-B OUT standards, which are crucial for flight tracking and safety transparency.

In a major operational boost, the NH90s can now hover precisely to the ground, improving maneuverability in tight landing zones and expanding their deployment capabilities in challenging terrain.
