Norway and the United Kingdom have signed the research and development agreement for the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System program, advancing toward potential procurement of Patria’s 6×6 armored vehicles. Having joined the Latvia-led initiative in September, both nations now gain access to existing development frameworks and may contribute to further enhancements pending national approvals. Launched in 2020, CAVS seeks to deliver a standardized, interoperable armored platform across member states. Nearly 2,000 vehicles have been ordered, with Germany’s 876-vehicle contract representing the largest deal. The NATO-compliant vehicle offers a 30-year service life, a 394-horsepower engine, and a 700-kilometer range.
