The United States has approved a $2.6 billion sale of HH-60W combat rescue helicopters and related equipment to Norway, a key NATO ally. The deal, announced Friday, aims to strengthen Norway’s airborne combat and special operations capabilities amid growing regional security challenges.
According to the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), the aircraft will also support Norway’s role in defending NATO allies. The State Department has given the green light for the sale, which now awaits final congressional approval.
