Poland has inked a $3.8 billion contract with the United States to upgrade 48 F-16 C/D Block 52 jets to the F-16V Block 72 configuration, including radar, communications, reconnaissance, ground infrastructure, simulators, and training enhancements. Work will be done mainly in Poland, at the Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 in Bydgoszcz, with some flight testing in the US. The upgrade is part of Warsaw’s drive to modernize its armed forces amid regional threats.
