RTX subsidiary Pratt & Whitney has secured a contract worth up to $2.8 billion to produce 141 F135 propulsion systems for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter fleet. These engines will be supplied to the US Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, international program partners, and foreign buyers. The bulk of production will be carried out across facilities in Connecticut, Indiana, and Washington, with additional contributions from sites in Maine, California, Michigan, Oregon, Georgia, Virginia, New Jersey, and even overseas locations. The project will run until February 2028, under the supervision of the Naval Air Systems Command in Maryland, ensuring steady progress and timely delivery of engines for one of the world’s most advanced fighter programs.
