Under its Medium Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) tender, the Swedish defense giant Saab has submitted a compelling proposal to the Indian Air Force (IAF), offering the Gripen-E fighter jet as well as a complete “Make in India” production strategy. Saab intends to establish a Gripen-E production line in India and has also offered its support for the development of India’s indigenous Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program. The objective of this partnership is to utilize Saab’s knowledge of digital engineering and fighter jet production to assist India in developing a modern manufacturing ecosystem.
