Saudi Arabia is in talks with Leonardo to enhance their partnership by bringing helicopter component production to the kingdom. The agreement would also cover maintenance and repair services, and making spare parts for engines, drones, and navigation systems. Leonardo has operated in Saudi Arabia for over forty years, supplying fighter aircraft, avionics, surveillance, naval, and space systems. This move to localize helicopter manufacturing is part of Vision 2030’s plan to diversify the economy and cut oil dependence by developing local industries.
