South Korea has completed all flight testing for its domestically developed KF-21 Boramae fighter aircraft, clearing the way for delivery to the Republic of Korea Air Force. The final test flight took place in mid-January using the fourth prototype, concluding a program that logged approximately 1,600 sorties over 42 months without a single accident. According to DAPA, the tests validated over 13,000 performance benchmarks, confirming the aircraft’s flight characteristics and combat systems. The program finished ahead of schedule after expanding test locations and incorporating air-to-air refueling. Led by Korea Aerospace Industries with broad domestic industry participation, the KF-21 is intended to replace aging F-4 and F-5 fighters, with mass deliveries planned from the second half of 2026.
