The Spanish government has agreed to buy 25 Eurofighter aircraft from the Munich-based, Germany, NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA). Known as the Halcon II program, the order will see 21 of the most recent generation of single-seat Eurofighter aircraft and four of the twin-seat Eurofighter aircraft replace a portion of the Spanish Air and Space Force’s fleet of F-18s. Following a prior contract for a batch of 20 fighter jets that was signed in 2022, the agreement will increase the size of the Spanish Eurofighter fleet to 115 planes. These new planes will enhance Spain’s air force capabilities and operations, with the first delivery expected in 2030.
