Stavatti Aerospace has unveiled a detailed proposal positioning its SM-39 Razor as a candidate for the U.S. Navy’s Next Carrier Air Dominance requirement. The January 2026 release outlines a notional buy of 600 aircraft at $85 million per jet, with deliveries between 2031 and 2037. The concept features a low-observable triple-fuselage design and ambitious performance claims, including sustained speeds above Mach 4. The proposal details extensive internal weapons capacity, including multiple bays for air-to-air and strike munitions, along with external hardpoints for high-payload missions. Stavatti also points to growth potential for directed-energy weapons, citing onboard power and cooling margins. While the proposal stands out for its scale and technical ambition, questions remain regarding feasibility, affordability, and carrier integration.
