In Taichung, the Republic of China Army displayed its newly acquired tactical ground system, the M1167 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (Humvee).
This platform has improved armor and firepower support when compared to previous Humvee models, allowing for force protection while still being constantly accessible for combat on the contemporary battlefield.
A key characteristic of the vehicle is its “up-armored” TOW (tube-launched, optically-tracked, wire-guided) anti-tank missile system, which offers improved range and precision.
With the TOW integration, users can install multiple weapon systems and engage targets in a 360-degree firing arc. Furthermore, this Humvee has increased passenger and cargo capacity (1,850 pounds/839 kg), as well as logistical support in an active zone under all weather conditions via airdrop or rotary-wing sling-load delivery.
The car is equipped with a standard chassis, windshield, and underbody coating for anti-ballistics, with the option of adding further frag kits based on the needs of the mission.
The M1167 Humvee can reach a top speed of 70 miles (113 kilometers) per hour thanks to its 190 horsepower turbocharged diesel engine and four-speed automatic transmission.
