The U.S. Department of Defense’s data, released at the conclusion of June 2025, showed that the United States reaffirmed its strategic commitment to air supremacy with a $3.5 billion investment in the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) platform, the F-47 fighter jet, in the 2026 defense budget. With $2.6 billion in discretionary funds and another $900 million waiting for clearance through a reconciliation bill, this significant investment is made up of $2.6 billion in discretionary funds and an additional $900 million. Designed as a sixth-generation, multi-role combat platform to take the place of the F-22 Raptor and act as the focal point of a future air combat environment, the F-47 was created by Boeing. It combines cutting-edge avionics, adaptive cycle propulsion, and stealth-enhancing design with perfect command-and-control over unmanned Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). These independent wingmen will broaden the mission capabilities of the F-47 by enabling it to launch sensor nodes, electronic warfare payloads, and precision munitions in high-threat environments, thereby maximizing lethality and ensuring survivability.
