The British Army has officially received its first fully UK-built 8×8 Boxer armored vehicle, manufactured at Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land’s Telford facility. First revealed earlier this year at an international defense conference, the vehicle arrived at Bovington for crew training and maintenance instruction. This milestone marks the UK’s first domestically produced armored vehicle in over a decade, following the end of BAE’s Terrier project in 2013. The Boxer is part of a £5 billion ($6.1B) program to deliver 623 Boxers and 148 Challenger 3 tanks by 2030. Featuring modular architecture and the ability to transport 11 personnel at speeds up to 103 km/h, it will join the Army’s Strike Brigades for rapid deployment across varied terrain.
