
In advance of President Donald Trump’s trip this week, the State Department has approved the sale of $1.4 billion worth of military aircraft and gear to the United Arab Emirates, according to US authorities. According to a statement from the State Department Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, the suggested transaction with the Gulf state includes six CH-47F Chinook helicopters and other equipment for $1.32 billion, which will “support the foreign policy and national security of the United States.”
