The US Coast Guard has taken delivery of its 18th HC-130J long-range surveillance aircraft at L3Harris’ Waco, Texas facility. The aircraft, designated CGNR 2018, was converted from a baseline C-130J and fitted with the Minotaur Mission Systems Suite (MSS+), along with USCG-specific radar, sensor, and communications upgrades. It will operate from Air Station Sacramento as the unit transitions from C-27J aircraft. The delivery marks the fourth mission-ready HC-130J handed over ahead of schedule. The Coast Guard plans to field 25 aircraft for border security, maritime patrol, and crisis response missions.
