India has selected Shield AI’s V-BAT unmanned aerial system for induction into the Indian Army, including licensed access to the company’s Hivemind autonomy software. The AI-driven system enables autonomous flight, mission execution, threat avoidance, and extended-range operations without continuous human control. The agreement also provides a software development kit that allows Indian partners to locally design, test, and deploy customized autonomous missions across platforms. Supported by Shield AI’s expanding industrial presence in India, including a new manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, the deal aligns with New Delhi’s push for indigenous production and advanced defense technology transfer.
