Defense ministers from Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Poland, and Sweden have agreed to jointly develop a long-range loitering munition under the European Long-range Strike Approach (ELSA). The proposed One Way Effector 500 Plus would exceed 500 kilometers in range and carry a 50-kilogram warhead, potentially adapted from 155mm artillery shells to reduce costs. Designed for deep precision strikes against air defenses and logistics hubs, the system aims for affordability and mass deployment, with one operator capable of launching multiple units simultaneously.
