The Royal Navy is moving toward a hybrid maritime force that combines traditional ships with autonomous platforms. Under Project Beehive, Kraken Technology Group will supply 20 uncrewed surface vessels valued at £12.3 million. These systems will serve as experimentation platforms for training and operational development within the Coastal Forces Squadron and 47 Commando units. The program supports the navy’s broader goal of integrating uncrewed technologies into future maritime operations.
