The Australian government has ordered 40 additional Bluebottle unmanned surface vessels from Ocius Technology, expanding the navy’s autonomous maritime fleet to 55 units. The platform was developed jointly with the Royal Australian Navy and is optimized for long-duration surveillance missions. Using renewable energy sources such as wind, solar power, and wave motion, the Bluebottle can remain at sea for months while collecting maritime intelligence and monitoring coastal areas.
