Rheinmetall has launched full-rate manufacturing of the Kraken K3 Scout autonomous surface vessel, signaling growing demand for unmanned maritime platforms. Built in Hamburg through Rheinmetall Kraken GmbH, the vessel is designed for both military and civilian use. It offers speeds of up to 55 knots, endurance of as long as 30 days, and payload capacity of 600 kilograms. Missions include coastal security, reconnaissance, resupply, evacuation, and armed operations, with autonomous or remote-control capability supported by open-architecture software.
