Shield AI has announced participation in a US Navy intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance program valued at up to $800 million, offering its V-BAT drone system. The VTOL platform features a ducted-fan layout, over 12 hours of endurance, and the ability to operate from land bases or naval vessels without special launch infrastructure. Designed for difficult operational environments, V-BAT is also gaining international traction with recent approvals or purchases from the Netherlands, Armenia, and India.
