Saudi Arabia has revealed the SKYWASP, a domestically developed long-range attack drone designed to conduct one-way strike missions against distant targets. Built by SR2Vector, the aircraft reportedly has a maximum operational range of around 1,500 kilometers, enabling long-distance attacks without requiring manned aircraft. The drone’s aerodynamic layout closely resembles other loitering munitions, featuring a delta-wing structure, integrated fuselage, forward payload compartment, and rear pusher propeller. Its appearance has drawn comparisons with Iran’s Shahed family of drones, although it represents Saudi Arabia’s own effort to expand indigenous defense production. The introduction of the SKYWASP demonstrates the Kingdom’s growing investment in advanced unmanned systems and its ambition to strengthen long-range precision strike capabilities as part of its evolving military modernization strategy.
