As part of the Future Tactical Uncrewed Aircraft Systems program, Textron Systems’ MK 4.8 Hybrid Quad (HQ) Aerosonde drone was transferred to the US Army. The handover from the maker to the US government was formally completed via the Department of Defense’s DD-250 procedure. The US Army FTUAS program team will then hold new equipment training at Redstone Test Center in order to certify instructors and operators, with the training expected to be finished by the end of January.
