SkyDefense, a Colorado-based defense tech firm, has unveiled CobraJet, an AI-powered eVTOL fighter drone designed to protect bases and critical infrastructure. CobraJet can fly over 320 km/h (200+ mph), tracking and engaging multiple fast, evasive aerial targets in the same mission. It features internal or external weapon bays for guided munitions, including smart glide bombs, enabling both air and ground strike missions. The drone’s AI enables real-time targeting, boosting defensive effectiveness against drone swarms, low-flying cruise missiles, or hostile aircraft. Positioned as a low-cost, flexible fighter alternative, CobraJet reflects the US military’s increasing shift toward AI-enabled unmanned systems in contested environments.
