Bengaluru-based startup Flying Wedge Defence and Aerospace has introduced India’s first Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) combat drone, named Kaal Bhairava. The AI-powered drone is capable of 30-hour endurance and a range of 3,000 km, designed for missions such as precision strikes, long-range surveillance, and swarm operations. With 80% indigenous components, the drone strengthens India’s self-reliance under Atmanirbhar Bharat while ensuring a secure supply chain. The company has also established a domestic maintenance and overhaul ecosystem, reducing costs and dependency on imports. Its wider portfolio includes a 100 km loitering munition and an unmanned bomber with 800 km range, underscoring India’s growing autonomous warfare capabilities.
