Saronic’s Corsair autonomous surface vessel has been selected by the US Navy under a $392-million contract aimed at accelerating the deployment of unmanned naval systems. The program aligns with Replicator’s vision of fielding large numbers of attritable platforms to enhance deterrence in the Indo-Pacific. Compact yet capable, Corsair offers long-range endurance, high speed, and flexible payload capacity. Navy officials view the platform as a force multiplier that can operate alongside crewed ships, conduct independent missions, and reduce exposure of personnel in high-risk environments. The contract underscores a broader shift toward speed, scale, and autonomy in US naval procurement.
