The US Army has expanded its use of lightweight tactical drones by acquiring six eBee TAC systems from EagleNXT through German partner Dronivo GmbH. The fixed-wing, hand-launched drones are equipped with advanced 3D and multispectral imaging sensors and high-precision positioning technology, enabling detailed mapping and modeling with minimal ground infrastructure. With a compact form factor, low visual signature, and endurance approaching 90 minutes, the eBee TAC is well-suited for reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, and operational planning. The system’s versatility also supports training, counterinsurgency, and search-and-rescue missions. This purchase follows the army’s earlier acquisition of eBee VISION drones for multinational training exercises in Germany, underscoring continued interest in agile, high-accuracy unmanned mapping solutions.
