France has awarded Soframe a contract to supply Heavy Recovery Vehicles for the French Army, strengthening battlefield logistics and recovery capabilities for modern combat operations. The award follows a competitive procurement launched in spring 2025 to address growing requirements for armored recovery platforms capable of supporting fast-moving mechanized forces. Under the framework agreement, Soframe will deliver an initial batch of 20 vehicles, including five units scheduled for delivery by 2027, with options to expand the order to as many as 80 vehicles. Based on an 8×8 Protected Recovery Vehicle design already in service with the Belgian Armed Forces, the platform reflects increasing Franco-Belgian defense cooperation. The vehicle is expected to feature protected chassis options, a 476-horsepower engine, 800-kilometer range, and heavy-duty recovery systems, enabling rapid retrieval and repair of disabled equipment in contested environments.
