KNDS Deutschland and RITEK have inaugurated a new production facility in Levanger, Norway, dedicated to assembling Leopard 2A8 platforms for the Norwegian Army. The facility supports Norway’s multi-billion-dollar tank procurement program signed in 2023, which includes up to 54 tanks. While initial vehicles are being produced in Germany, the remaining 37 tanks will be assembled domestically. The plant combines production and testing infrastructure, including laser measurement tracks and water immersion systems, allowing comprehensive evaluation before delivery.
