Turkey and Egypt have concluded a $350-million defense cooperation agreement that combines arms exports with joint industrial production initiatives. The deal, signed between Turkey’s MKE and Egypt’s Ministry of Defence during a high-level presidential visit, includes the $130-million export of Turkey’s Tolga short-range air defense system, designed to counter drones and low-altitude aircraft. The remaining value will fund the construction of a 155mm artillery ammunition facility and new production lines for 7.62mm and 12.7mm rounds in Egypt. A joint venture will manage the facilities, strengthening Egypt’s ambitions to serve as a regional defense manufacturing hub. The agreement reflects improving bilateral ties and expanding co-production efforts.
