India is moving closer to fielding a new indigenous counter-drone weapon as Solar Defence and Aerospace advances the Bhargavastra system toward operational readiness. Developed to defeat swarms of drones and other low-cost aerial threats, the mobile platform integrates radar surveillance, electro-optical tracking, command systems, and precision micro-missiles into a highly responsive air defense solution. Built to operate in environments where electronic jamming alone may be insufficient, the system is designed to rapidly identify and destroy multiple aerial targets while remaining easily deployable by military forces. As drone warfare becomes an increasingly significant battlefield challenge, Bhargavastra demonstrates India’s growing capability to develop advanced, homegrown air defense technologies that strengthen battlefield protection and national security.
